5 original and healthy Tupperware meals
On-the-go food does not need to be monotonous. Learn how to cook some original dishes!
Preparing the food at home and taking it with you in a Tupperware means you can choose whatever you like, take just the right amount and you won’t need to throw away any leftovers.
However, sometimes, it is hard to come up with a weekly menu that can be taken in a container, and it’s easy to run out of ideas. The main thing is not to improvise and choose to cook a single rice-based, pasta-based or pulse-based dish accompanied by bits of meat or fish.
A recipe for every day
If you are careful about what you eat, when you are getting the Tupperware ready for the next day, you will follow the same healthy and balanced diet. Experts recommend making the meal for the entire family and then dividing it up into portions for each member.
1. Monday: spinach salad with oranges, walnuts, some lentils and a spoonful of rice. The vitamin C from the fruit will help your body absorb the iron from the vegetables, and the lecithin and phosphorous from the walnuts will help you with your memory.
2. Tuesday: sautéed mushrooms with tuna. The fish provides you with a good dose of proteins and omega 3 fatty acids, which reduce blood cholesterol levels. Moreover, the high selenium content of mushrooms will counteract the destructive effect of the free radicals (which damage our cells and make us age).
3. Wednesday: meat lasagne, it is a very complete dish with great nutritional value, which provides carbohydrates, proteins, fat and fibre, guaranteeing a good energy boost for coping with the rest of the day.
4. Thursday: Green beans with boiled potatoes and carrots, seasoned with oil, prawns and garlic. The fibre from the vegetables will help with your body’s intestinal transit, and prevent constipation while helping in digestion.
5. Friday: salad with pineapple and chicken. A fresh, sweet and sour recipe which will help with digestion. This tropical fruit contains an enzyme called bromelain, which will tenderize the meat and help break down the proteins of the chicken.
As you can see, the Tupperware is an ideal option for your purse and your health. Instead of seeing it as something monotonous and boring, try mixing, experimenting and innovating with your dishes. This experience can become a tasty, economical and healthy habit.
