Get fit and start the summer full of vitality

The good weather has started and it’s time to get out into the fresh air to enjoy some sunshine, warmth and leisure time. You need to be physically and mentally ready to do this.

  1. Step up the exercise. If you have been put off exercise because of the nasty weather, now is the time to do it. Set aside half an hour every day to do some aerobic exercise that will get your entire body moving. It’ll tone your muscles and improve your lung capacity. Everything you do outdoors will give you some extra vitality. Remember that the Sun is life.
  2. Repeat this routine every day:

Warm up for ten minutes. Run slowly, breathing deeply to warm up and wake up your muscles.

Burpee: Stand up with your feet a little apart. Put your hands on the floor in the squat position. Put your hands on the floor and kick back, then do a press up until you almost on the floor. Bend your knees and jump back into your starting position.

saltos

Lunge: Stand with your feet together. Step forward with your right leg, lowering your hips until both knees are bent at about a 90-degree angle. The front knee must stay behind your toes so as not to strain the joint. Repeat with the other leg.

  1. Organise your time Set aside a few minutes every day to think, relax and be aware of your breathing. Take time to plan your day and prioritise what is most important. If you are organised, you’ll have time for everything.
  2. Drink a cup of green tea every day. It will speed up your metabolism, improve your digestion, eliminate fluids and harmful substances and you will give your body antioxidants to protect your skin.
  3. Eat more seasonal fruits and vegetables. You will fill yourself with vitamins, minerals and water, prevent constipation and your body will have more vitality and energy. Remember that during the summer the seasonal fruits and vegetables you will find most easily are apricots, peaches, plums, raspberries, blackberries, figs, mangoes, watermelons, melons, nectarines, flat peaches, bananas, grapes, courgettes, onions, pepper, tomatoes, lettuces, cucumbers, and carrots. All these foods speed up cleaning processes and eliminate toxins.
  4. Drink plenty of liquids. Not just water. You can also drink juices, purées, sorbets, smoothies or purifying infusions that will hydrate you, avoid constipation and improve the digestion and the metabolism.
  5. Prepare your skin. Healthy food and exercise will help you to recover your glow and flexibility. However, before going out into the sun, moisturise and protect it with a suitable sun protection product for your skin.
