Evening primrose oil is extracted from the seeds of this plant.
It is a member of the Oenothera genus. It is mainly grown in North America, although it was brought to Europe in the early seventeenth century.
The evening primrose contains large amounts of essential fatty acids, such as Omega 6. Its many components include:
- Acids such as oleic, alpha, beta and gamma-linoleic, stearic, aspartic and palmitic acids.
