
Operation Detox
For the last few days, you have been feeling tired, you have been sleeping badly, you find it hard to concentrate at work, you forget things and you have indigestion. Your body has probably accumulated toxins and you are incapable of eliminating them by yourself.
With a healthy diet, regular physical exercise and drinking two litres of water a day you will feel better.
But if this is not enough, you can draw up a detoxing programme:
- On just one day, follow a semiliquid diet based on sugar free fruit juices and vegetable purées.
When you get up: Have a glass of lemon juice with warm water.
Breakfast: Papaya, pineapple, watermelon or a bowl of red fruits.
Mid-morning: green tea
Before lunch: papaya or pineapple juice.
For lunch: pumpkin, carrot, celery and tomato purée. For dessert, a whole piece of fruit (melon or banana if you are very hungry).
Mid-afternoon: Liquidised vegetables, tomato, cucumber and celery.
For supper: Salad of lamb’s lettuce, tomato and dried fruit like walnuts and a green tea infusion.
- Drink at least two litres of water a day.
- Avoid cigarettes, alcohol, coffee, sweet things, and refined flour.
- Opt for wholegrain produce: cereals, pasta and rice.
- Add more fibre vegetables: such as cabbage, artichokes and broccoli, or fresh fruit like: apples, pears, strawberries, plums, oranges or lemons.
- Choose diuretic foods: pineapple, melon, watermelon, asparagus, artichokes or aubergines.
- Take lukewarm showers and end up with cold water to activate your circulation.
- Do hypropressive exercises. Breathe deeply three times and, on the third, inhale, contract your abdominal muscles and hold your breath as long as you can. Breathe deeply again and repeat the process. Try to hold your breath longer each time.
- Use an exfoliating peel for your skin.
- Go to a spa, sauna or hot water swimming pool.
- Go out, go for a walk, breathe deeply and try to de-stress and get rid of anxiety.
You will feel like new after just one week. You can repeat it twice a year, at the beginning of summer and winter. It will help keep the toxins at bay and you will feel rejuvenated.
