  Stay active daily

It is important to keep active every day.

Life can sometimes turn into a routine when all you seem to do is go from home to work and work to home. When looking back, you ask yourself what happened to that active person who used never stop and was always full of energy.

Would you like to lose that feeling and start being active again?

Remember why it is important to keep active. Doing exercise will help release endorphins, which will make you feel happier and more satisfied with life. Even if your work involves physical activity, doing a sport will revive you and make your leisure time more effective.

Take this advice:

  1. Forget the lift. Whenever possible, walk up and down the stairs. Walking down also helps tone the thigh muscles.
  2. Walk during your daily routine. Take the bus one stop further on or do not park the car so near your work place. Go for a half-hour walk two or three times a week. It will activate your circulation and exercise your legs, and get rid of stress and anxiety. Breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
  3. If you work at a counter, in a factory or in transport, move your legs. Stand on tiptoes and raise the tips. This will help activate circulation. And whenever you are given the opportunity to make a longer trip, make the most of it.
  4. Drink water throughout the day. You will need to walk for a refill and to go to the bathroom, apart from drinking two litres a day, which is what is recommended.
  5. When speaking on the phone, stand up and walk around. That way you will cover quite a distance a day without realising it.
  6. Choose a sports activity that interests you and try it out. You can do it alone, like running, or cycling, or join a class like fitness, Zumba or Pilates. If you find an activity that motivates you, you will find it hard to give it up. Do sports two days a week for about forty minutes. You will immediately notice that: you will sleep better, your mind will be clearer, you will have a better posture and you will tire less easily, you will have fewer aches and pains, and you will maintain the proper weight and be happier with your appearance.
  7. And if you find it hard to leave the house, put some music on and dance, do some abdominal exercises or sit-ups, or do some housework to the sound of music and with a little rhythm. You will burn calories without realising it.
